Believe in the power of mind to improve health

Do you believe in the power of mind? I for one, never did until I read about one passage in the bible that says, "Be careful how you think: your life is shape by your thoughts", proverbs 4:23 and then I came across an article about the power of mind . Filipinos are known to be religious and believe it or not, I've read the bible from cover to cover, meaning from genesis to revelations finding answers to questions about life and general, sounds good isn't it? But the more I read that more it makes my inquisitive mind to dig for more more answer.


My father was a religious person while my mother very seldom I've seen going to church and I never seen her praying at all. My father died young while my mother, at the age of 83 is still strong and healthy. You might be thinking she's healthy because of the food she eats everyday? Eating nutritious food or completing a meal 3 times a day I believe has got nothing to do with her health because we didn't have that and sometimes in the past we skip meal because we lacked money.


Medicines can't accept anything without a hundred studies and trials to back up what all the rest of us know from common sense, simple logic and empirical observation. If you heard about the western medical circles and about something that eastern cultures have known for decades, that the plants and herbs can heal deseases and can help improve immunity, quite the opposite I know is true. While a herb that works great for one may not work that well for another, the effectiveness of the herbs themselves are not changed by this. Each person is different and an herb may work great for you and have no effect on someone else.

According to a study, the mind plays a huge roles in your health and well-being. It is the most powerful tool that we have for health. Of course, it can and too often is also the most powerful limiter of the same health and healing we have as well. The best example here is my mother. She seldom take medicine and she hates going to a doctor for a check-up. .Whenever she feels ill, she would just sleep and rest. She always say, “I don't need medicine, I'll be fine.


Recent findings on diseases are either caused or exacerbated by stress and the mind. Researchers have found stress is the main factor of all major illnesses including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, skin infections, back problems and more. Since most stress is caused by the mind due to excessive thought and worry, it's in the mind where our greatest power lies to not only eliminate or greatly reduce stress, but also to use the power of our minds and relaxation to greatly enhance our energy (Chi) flow, boost our immunity, increase our resistance to many diseases and to greatly help us achieve longevity.
